At the IRONMAN Lanzarote Christian Kramer ended the 3.8 km swimming on 5th place and joined with the leading group to the bike section. The extreme wind on the volcanic island finally helped that the leading positions changed rapidly. For Christian Kramer everything went according to his plan, he could increase the distance to his pursuers. On this day his bike split should also remain the fastest of all the athletes, with a lead of more than 3 minutes he started the marathon. At a great heat and still windy, the conditions were anything but easy. With that only one could cope better on this day. Alessandro Degasperi (from Italy) ran the marathon faster than Christian Kramer and was able to take the leading position just before the finish line.

After 8:59:30 hours for Christian Kramer the certainty remains that this race at Lanzarote has taken his signature and that he already saved his ticket for the World Championships in Hawaii.
