After winning the relay at der Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof, the Czech women team also finished first at the 4 x 6 km race in Ruhpolding, Germany. Just like in Oberhof Eva Puskarcikova had an impressive start. She fired 10 shots and all 10 targets turned black. She exchanged as first with a lead of 25 seconds. On the press conference, she said modestly: "It was hard to shoot clean with the snow falling, but it was easier than in Oberhof. I am not exactly sure how I shot 10 for the second week in a row." Also Gabriela Soukalova was in top form and skied excellent, despite the wet track, which robbed the athletes a lot energy. She was able to expand the lead to 1:07 minutes despite three reloads. Jitka Landova was the third Czech and successfully defended the leadership and handed over to Veronika Vitkova, who also showed a strong race. She increased the lead up to 1:13 minutes and cruised to victory for the Czech relay team.
Thanks to a courageous performance of final athlete Darya Domracheva the Belarusians could pass the Germans and finished second.
Congratulations!
