After 14.5 km still 6 men fight for the Biathlon World Cup victory in Ruhpolding. Three of them can settle on the last 200 metres and the audience begins to hold the breath. In the end the photo finish had to decide the 15 km mass start, because the German Schempp, the Frenchman Fillon Maillet and the Czech Slesingr finished at the same time. Michal Slesingr remained flawless in the shooting just like his two opponents and had to settle with the in this case ungrateful third place. However, he is pleased: "This was crazy today. We have shown a great fight. Actually, we're all three first-placed, but the third place is alright for me, although I'd have like to win. It was again a successful week for our team." At the same time he quarrels with his tactics: "On the last downhill, I let them get some meters on me and that was my mistake...Still it was one of my better races."
