Jakob Fak showed in Nove Mesto at the 10 km biathlon world cup sprint a faultless shooting and the fastest time of the day and won for the first time this season. He said at the press conference: "My key to success today was shooting clean. Also, I really like the track in Nove Mesto. I´m well prepared for the World Cup." The Slovenian also seemed well prepared for the 12.5 km pursuit race, which he also won. He started first and could keep the lead despite a penalty loop. He had a really strong skiing performance and let his rivals to chance to counter. "I never started a pursuit in first and won so I am happy that I did that...I wanted to run my own race and did a good job today...I wanted to shoot clean but do not have much experience shooting on lane one, so maybe next time I can do it."
