Dario Cologna achieved great results in his favourite discipline, Skiathlon, (he already has won gold at the World Championships and Olympics) at the Nordic World Championships in Fallun (Sweden). After the start of the third and final round of skating, Cologna went over to attack and pulled clear of the leading group. Only three of his competitors were able to follow him. In the final sprint, the popular Swiss had to admit defeat against the Russian Maxim Wylegschanin, who had a bit more power on the last meters. Nevertheless Cologna was delighted in Swiss television: "I am very satisfied that I won a medal in the first race of the World Championships. I was pretty tired at the end, he was simply stronger on the home stretch."
Congratulations also from us!
