The second half of the season has started for Ricarda Lisk with a podium finish: At Frankfurt City Triathlon she finished in 2:19:58h at the third place behind the winner Natasha Schmitt (2:11:01h) and Daniela Sämmler (2:15:14h).
Already in the first discipline, swimming in the “Langen” forest lake, Ricarda Lisk showed once again her skill. She swam with the men's group around the former IRONMAN Hawaii winner Faris Al Sultan and left the water with the fastest swim time of the women (18:29 min). She changed as first female athlete to the bicycle and was only beaten by the two strong cyclists Schmitt and Sämmler, at the 44 km long bike course around Frankfurt. With a courageous run about 10 kilometers through Frankfurt downtown, she finished at the third place.
"That was really a tough day. The swimming was perfect, on the bike and while running I had to fight “, an exhausted Ricarda said at the finish. "But I am pleased with this last challenge before the European Championship in Wiesbaden."
Ricarda already achieved one of her major goals for the season: she is qualified for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Austria.
"At the World Cup actually only 35 women are allowed to start, so I am very happy that I have managed the qualification and that I will start there," said a satisfied Ricarda.
