After a short, effective training period on Mallorca, Tine decided last week to participate at the IRONMAN Vichy in the French Auvergne. A good choice ´cause she delivered an excellent race! On her last running lap, Tine was able to overtake the six time Hawaii victress Natascha Badmann from Switzerland. Only the Spanish Frades Gurutze was faster.
The nearly 4 km long swimming led the athletes through Lac d ´ Allier. Tine came of well and moved after 1:04:25 hours on the bike. The bike course with 2 rounds à 90 km led the Athletes steadily uphill, also there was a strong wind on the course - but Tine impressed in her favorite discipline with the second fastest bike split (5:04:45 hours) after Natascha Badmann.
Despite the enormous heat, Tine ran a consistently strong Marathon (3:15:50 hours) and secured herself the silver medal. With a time of 9:30:59 hours Tine finished as 42nd in the overall ranking of 1.182 finishers.
Well done!!
