The German sprint team started with a victory in the World Cup season of track riders:
At the first competition in Cali (COL) René Enders, Max Niederlag and Joachim Eilers (GER) won in the finals of the team sprint in 43.095 seconds against Poland (43.748). Jeffrey Hoogland (NL) was with his team third.
In the women's sprint team, the European champions Daria Shmelewa and Anstassia Voinowa won in the small final against the Olympic Sprint team champions Miriam Welte and Kristina Vogel.

Joachim Eilers and Kristina Vogel triumphed in the Keirin race. Domenic Weinstein won in the non-Olympic 4000-meter individual pursuit. Leon Rohde and Kersten Thiele won in Madison.
In the sprint men's podium was also decorated by CASCO helmets: Dennis Dmitriev (RusVelo) won ahead of Jeffrey Hoogland (NL) and Max Niederlag (GER).
